Google CEO Sends Memo About YouTube HQ Tragedy

In the wake of the tragedy that ended one dead and four critically injured, Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO, has written a heartfelt memo to his employees. Pindar wanted to congratulate the YouTube HQ security team for keeping the company’s employees safe during this tragic event.

YouTube HQ Shooting Planned and Carried Out by Malcontent User

According to the authorities, on Tuesday, at around noon, a suspect entered YouTube’s HQ and opened fire. The first responders arrived a few minutes after received a frantic call from a woman who said that she heard gunshots in the building.

When the police officers arrived at the scene, they’ve discovered the body of a 39-year-old woman, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Paramedics identified and rushed four people to the hospital, two in critical condition after being gunned down by the suspect.

The investigation revealed that the perpetrator was a 39-year-old YouTube channel owner from California. Nasim Aghdam would regularly post videos on her channel, criticizing YouTube on its new content-creating measures and accusing the company of censoring her and withholding the money she made through her channels.

Following the tragedy, Sundar Pichai sent an email to Google and YouTube employee’s in which he denounced Aghdam’s acts. Pichai would also go on to offer his since congratulations to YouTube’s security team who managed to get all the employees to safe areas, thus preventing even more deaths.

More than that, Google’s CEO stated on his social media account that the company would do anything in its power to support the victims of the YouTube HQ shooting and their families.

Pichai isn’t the only celebrity that commented on the Tuesday events, being followed by Tim Cooks of Apple, Susan Wojcicki, YouTube’s CEO, and Jack Dorsey, the co-founder and CEO of Twitter, and many more social media users.
