The phone company and selfie app Meitu announced that it would release the T8 smartphone, a device with an exquisite design and high-quality selfie camera. The tech giant started its business developing selfie apps.
In 2013, Meitu decided to take user experience to the next level and began manufacturing smartphones. Now the company plans to launch its new flagship phone, the Meitu T8. The best thing about this device is that it comes with a DSLR-like selfie cam.
Besides this, it uses artificial intelligence for improved beautification. This feature is the reason why Meitu became a renowned company worth four billion dollars. The users can edit their photos by darkening or lightening skin, getting rid of the wrinkles, and other options.
The company claims that there are over 450 million people using its apps for photo editing, streaming, and make-up. They became popular in the United States as well, until the users discovered that they collect huge amounts of data.
Some experts regard Meitu as one of the smartest selfie smartphones in the world. The company explains that it uses artificial intelligence to power its beautification features. With the help of AI, its smartphones can modify photos for every user.
The T8 is a device focused on taking selfies as it sports a 12-megapixel front-facing dual camera. In addition to this, this smartphone also has a 21-megapixel main shooter. In terms of other features, the T8 has a 5.2-inch AMOLED display backed by a 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution.
Plus, it runs on a MediaTek Helio MT6797 chipset. The T8 comes with 4GB of RAM as well as 128 GB of built-in storage. This smartphone is powered by 3580 mAh battery. Meitu’s flagship smartphone will be on sale in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China, while its price tag will be around $480.
The analysts believe that the T8 will be a high-demand product thanks to its generous battery and high-quality cameras. Besides this, it is much cheaper than other smartphones developed by top brands, including Huawei, Samsung, and iPhone. It is not known yet whether the new smartphone will be available in Europe too.
