Because flamethrowers and hats with the Boring Company’s logo are so last years, Elon Musk recently announced that his company is working on an eco-friendly concept that will prove to be a milestone in the affordable housing industry. Called the Lego-like brick, Musk’s somewhat tacky invention will be made exclusively from excavated earth and can be used in anything, including building a replica of an Egyptian Pyramid.
The Boring Company Has Big Plans for Its Lego Bricks
We have heard Elon Musk talking about affordable space travel, chanting his ‘we live in the Matrix’ mantra, and even showing off a Fifth Element inspired flamethrower. Musk’s next concept is as ‘wacky’ as the other stuff his company designed and manufactured.
During a recent press conference and on his Twitter account, of course, Elon Musk announced that the Boring Company would start to produce life-size Lego-like bricks that will totally change everything we know or think we know about constructions.
According to Musk’s presentation, these gigantic Lego bricks will be made entirely from excavate earth and have interlocking capabilities, meaning that they can be assembled just like any other Lego kits.
With this new invention, Musk declared that anyone could build anything from a humble hovel to a 1-to-1 replica of the Great Pyramid of Giza or the Temple of Horus.
As always, Musk refused to disclose more details about his company’s Lego bricks, but we do know for sure that the Boring Company is currently involved in some serious digging in California. One theory would be that Musk’s company might be secretly working on a next-generation transportation system.
Whatever the case may be, the new bricks, which, according to Musk, will be as tough as any construction material, can be useful in consolidating building, especially in earthquake-prone areas or could be used as cheap alternatives to building affordable houses.
